I am often asked about places to go in Florence. I have compiled a small list of places I frequent where I have had a good experience.
Accommodations
There is only one website I recommend for accommodations. The site is called Apartments Florence and it is run by a human being my wife and I know personally — ask for Gianmaria.
APARTMENTS FLORENCE
Mention to Gianmaria that you know Rima and that you came through this website.
Galleries & Museums
- The Uffizi – Mid March is a good time to go. They are often open late on Wednesday evenings.
- The Innocenti Museum – Featured in my film The Innocents of Florence.
- Opera del Duomo Museum – Beautiful Michelangelo Pietà (the one he was working on at the time of his death).
- Marino Marini Museum – Contemporary Italian sculpture in a beautiful setting (one of my favorites).
- Santa Croce – Worth visiting for the tombs of Michelangelo and many others.
