Places I know – Places I go
I am often asked about places to go in Florence. I have compiled a small list of places I frequent where I have had a good experience. There is only one website I recommend for accomodations.
The site is called Apartments Florence and it is run by a human being my wife and I know personally – ask for Gianmaria.
Mention to Gianmaria that you know Rima and that you came through this website.

The UFFIZI, mid march is a good time to go. Double check, but beginning in March they are also open late (to 22:00) on Wednesday evenings and this is a great opportunity to have the place to yourself.
This link is also a great resource and the Innocenti Museum is featured in my film:
THE INNOCENTS OF FLORENCE is up to number 2 on the list.
The Opera del Duomo Museum is a lovely stroll through art history and strikes an excellent balance. If you want to see a beautiful Michelangelo pieta (the one he was working on at the time of his death at 91) then this is a must see.
If you get bored with renaissance art, then there is a beautiful contemporary sculpture museum called Marino Marini Which features contemporary Italian sculpture in a beautiful architectural setting (one of my favorites and off the beaten track).
The church of Santa Croce (Holy Cross) is worth walking through if you want to visit the graves of the big name past Florentines and visit the tombs of Michelangelo and many others.
